Scott has a master's degree in library science. He assists researchers with literature searches and provides editing for their proposals. He teaches frequent classes for physicians and nurses in the art of using the library. He oversees library outreach efforts by developing and fostering positive relationships with health professionals, students, and nonclinical staff within the medical center communities.

Mayra Garcia, DNP, APRN, PCNS-BC

Mayra is an expert clinician in providing care to children. She practices in the general surgery and general pediatric units at Children's Medical Center. She leads quality/process improvement projects, initiates and leads research studies, and develops evidence-based practice protocols and guidelines. Mayra currently serves as the President of the Hispanic Nursing Association, Dallas Chapter. This role allows her the ability to interact closely with the Hispanic community through service projects.

Robyn Huey Lao, DNP, APRN, PCNS-BC

Robyn serves as a nurse practitioner at an American College of Surgeons designated Children's Surgery Center. She is involved in staff education and patient care for children and their families. She coordinates care of pediatric surgery outpatients in collaboration with the physician team. She is an expert in pediatric transport.

Emilie Lamberg Jones, BSW, RN, C-EFM, CPLC

Fetal Care Coordinator, Children's Hospital of Wisconsin and Medical College of Wisconsin

Emilie was first a social worker and then a nurse and uses both sets of skills in her delicate position. She directs care for families facing the loss of a "normal" pregnancy and the uncertainty of the prenatal diagnosis of a fetal anomaly. She coordinates education, anticipatory guidance, coordination of perinatal and neonatal plans of care, coordination of fetal surgery, emotional support, and counseling.

Kory McGuire, RN, MSN, CNS

Kory provides education to nursing staff in operating room and perioperative settings. She works closely with the multidisciplinary team in creating policy and safety measures and acts as consultant to physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to meet the care needs of surgical patients of all ages in both the inpatient and outpatient surgical settings.

Marianne Rogoff, PhD

Professor of English, Creative Writing and Narrative Medicine, Dominican University of California

Marianne is an author and professor who specializes in narrative medicine. Her personal essays, book reviews, poems, and researched articles focus on connections between physical and emotional health. She delves deeply into how the telling of the story can help in responding to diagnosis, managing treatment, and supporting recovery. She is the author of Silvie's Life, reviewed in this issue of JPSN.

Janice Selekman, DNSc, RN, NCSN, FNASN

Dr. Selekman brings a multitude of expertise in pediatrics as the recipient of the Barbara A. Larson Humanitarian Award from the Society of Pediatric Nurses (to one who exemplifies the ideals, values, and commitment to serve children by working to improve their health, well-being, and/or living conditions). Janet is the Editor of the 2012 AJN Book of the Year Award in Community-Public Health Category: First Place, for her book School Nursing: A Comprehensive Text, now in its third edition. She has conducted award-winning research on the role of school nurses with children who have chronic conditions. Her publications range from new material on vaping to handling the violent school intruder. Janet will have a column in every issue discussing the pediatric patient's continuity of care into the community.
